MATC Libraries’ supply of Chromebooks, Hotspots, Specialty Technology is available via an application process. Equipment is limited to the available stock and will be issued to qualified applicants. These devices are loaned out as a courtesy, but remain property of the libraries, and must be returned by the due date, or you will be billed for the replacement cost!

You must fill out the application to be considered; equipment is not guaranteed. If approved, you will be notified in your MATC email. You must pick up the device by the specified date in the email, otherwise the equipment will be assigned to another student and you will be placed back on the waitlist. You can also sign up for Text Message Alerts and get notifications on your mobile phone as well. The approval process can take up to 5 business days or longer during peak periods.

Step 1: Fill out the Summer/Fall Semester Tech Request/Application Form. This is the form you use to request equipment that you can take home to use. It typically takes 3-5 business days to process an application, plus 1 day for equipment to arrive at Milwaukee, 2 days for it to arrive at West Allis, and 3 days for it to arrive in Mequon. Equipment ships from Oak Creek. Specialty equipment requires pick-up at the campus of origin.
Step 2: Fill out the Library Equipment Agreement Form prior to pick up. This is the legal agreement that states, among other things, that you are responsible for equipment you check out, whether you take it home or use it on-campus.  Even if it is lost or stolen, you are still responsible for it, and replacement costs will be charged for lost or stolen equipment. Repair costs may be charged for damaged equipment.
Step 3: You can also sign up for Text Message Alerts, and get notification on your mobile phone.

  • A Stormer Pass/MATC ID is required for checkout.
  • Devices must be returned by the due date.
  • Devices may not be renewed and must be returned for maintenance before they are available for checkout again.
  • Overdue late fees and replacement charges will be applied if devices are not returned by the due date, and all devices will automatically be deactivated.
  • Please return them to the Libraries' Circulation Desk and NOT in an outside drop box as this may cause damage.
